When we created Paper Epiphanies, we had a few mottos in mind. One of them was, “try not to be an asshole.” And we stand by that. We try not to be an asshole to the Earth, to each other or to ourselves. We our proud of the high quality materials and processes that go into every product we create and we strive to always bring you our best.

When it comes to the Earth, we believe in balance. In today’s age of technology sometimes an eCard just isn’t enough. We believe in paper. Paper is something you can treasure, burn, frame, rip, reuse and the list continues. The bottom line is, you can interact with it emotionally and physically. Being able to reread and remember life’s moments through cards is a gift and we don’t plan on trading those in for an email anytime soon. That being said, modern technology has helped us to create paper that is both elegant and responsible. Below are all things we do to reduce our asshole impact on the Earth and those around us:
  • The paper used for our letterpress greeting cards is 100% tree-free and made from recovered cotton from the textile industry that would otherwise end up in landfills. Our paper is archival, acid free, recyclable, biodegradable, and elemental chlorine free. Cotton is naturally brighter then wood and thus the process to make cotton paper requires less bleach and other chemicals than paper made from wood. It also requires far less water processing and energy. Our other paper materials and foil greeting cards are made with high-recycled content and are FSC-certified.
  • We recycle our photopolymer printing plates, film negatives and paper scraps. We recycle and reuse packaging materials.
  • We support charities and give our time and money to further those causes. We encourage you to do the same. Find out what matters to you and fight for it! Plus, it can’t hurt to put some good Karma out into the world, right? We currently support GirlUp through our KISS MY PUMPS line, as well as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and the Junior League of Los Angeles.
  • If you are placing a large custom order and want to offset your energy use, we encourage you to donate a tree. Here at Paper Epiphanies, we will match your tree donation up to 25 trees!

The bottom line is – we try our best everyday to leave this planet better than we found it. We are always striving to be better and do more. We are always looking for ways to become more efficient and if a better process or material is created in the future, we will try to adopt that.

When it comes to you, the customer, we will always try our best. If there is something you want that you don’t see or something you aren’t happy with – let us know and we will do what we can to make it happen or make it better! We are here because of you and we are so grateful for your support! We also kindly ask that you adopt the don’t be an asshole motto as well…it’s just easier that way.
